International Partnering Institute Annual Awards

Each year, the International Partnering Institute recognizes projects and individuals who best exemplify the principals of partnering and promote our mission - to create a culture of partnership. The purpose of the awards is to celebrate success, share lessons learned and best practices, and to acknowledge the collaborative efforts of teams and individuals who achieve extraordinary results. Applications and Nominations will be due no later than February 15 of each year; awards will be presented at our Spring Forum. An overview of the seven awards follows. Partnered Project of the Year - Sapphire, Ruby, and Diamond Levels

Picture of partnering awardThe Partnered Projects of the Year Awards recognize teams who distinguish themselves by implementing IPI’s best practices for an integrated partnering program and exemplify high-trust working relationships on their projects. Winning teams will demonstrate commitment to the elements of the integrated partnering program, achieve excellent results and deliver an outstanding project. Judging factors include success in applying IPI's best practices and the principals of partnering; project results achieved; inclusion of all stakeholders and project participants in the process; problems overcome; lessons learned; and evidence of a culture change. The application form and evaluation use a points-based system with teams eligible to receive awards at one of three levels: Sapphire, Ruby, and Diamond. Legacy Partnered Project Award

IPI has implemented a Legacy Partnered Project Award for projects that have stood the test of time as outstanding examples of partnering. We want to honor and learn form those projects that are completed, and, over time, that we have come to realize exhibited an extraordinary partnering effort. Any project that was completed prior to 2009 can apply. The application form and evaluation use a points-based system with teams eligible to receive awards at one of three levels: Sapphire, Ruby, and Diamond. Partnering Champion Award

Partnering Champion AwardThe Partnering Champion Award is the highest honor presented by IPI. The award recognizes an organization that embraces and models the IPI mission to develop high trust relationships and organizational cultures. Organizations presented with this award will distinguish themselves with consistent, long-term commitment to IPI’s best practices for an integrated partnering program and the collaborative process. Nominations must include evidence of an internal culture change and a profound impact on changing the cultures of external organizations. Additional criteria include the methodology used for the application of IPI’s best practices and the principals of partnering; demonstrated results; efficiencies obtained and problems overcome; and lessons learned. A multi-year track record of successful application of an integrated partnering program will be expected. This prestigious award will be presented only in those years that a deserving organization is nominated.

Strategic Partnering Achievement Award

Strategic Partnering AwardThe Strategic Partnering Achievement Award recognizes teams who successfully apply IPI’s best practices for an integrated partnering program to an internal or external strategic partnering initiative between multiple organizations to support effective project implementation. Winning organizations will demonstrate commitment to creating agreement(s) using the integrated partnering program elements to achieve significant results from a high trust relationship. Evaluation factors include success in applying IPI's best practices and the principals of partnering; common strategic goals; results achieved; inclusion of senior level stakeholders and decision makers in the process; problems overcome; lessons learned; and evidence of a culture change. A multi-year track record of successful application of your strategic partnership will be expected. Two awards will be presented – one for internal strategic partnering achievement between two or more departments in an organization and one for external strategic partnering achievement between two or more organizations.

Excellence in Partnering Facilitation Award

Excellence in partnering facilitation awardThe Excellence in Partnering Facilitation Award honors the outstanding facilitators who have embraced the IPI mission to develop high trust relationships and partnering organizational cultures. Winners will have successfully led teams in the implementation of IPI’s best practices for an integrated partnering program, both at the project and strategic levels. Individuals who receive this award will model behavior for effective partnering facilitators; contribute to the development and training of other facilitators; provide evidence of successful project teams and strategic partnerships; document use of best practices; demonstrate how they helped their teams implement partnering; and provide recommendations and support from both projects and organizations. Bonus points will be given for IPI certification (CPF) and Master level certification (MPF). A multi-year track record of successful application of an integrated partnering program will be expected. One award will be presented each year to a distinguished candidate that is nominated.

Outstanding Dispute Resolution Facilitator Award

Outstanding dispute resolution facilitator awardThe Outstanding Dispute Resolution Facilitator Award will be presented to individuals who demonstrate exceptional talent as a neutral facilitator of disputes and are committed to promoting an atmosphere of partnering even when there are disputes. Winners will be recognized experts and considered exceptional disputes resolution facilitators by their peers and clients. Individuals who receive this award will model behavior for effective neutral facilitators; contribute to the development and training of other disputes resolution facilitators; provide evidence of successful project organizational conflict resolution based on partnering principles; document use of partnering best practices; and provide recommendations and support from projects, organizations and peers. Bonus points will be given for IPI certification (DRF). A multi-year track record of successful application of partnering elements integrated with their successful neutral facilitation will be expected. One award will be presented each year to a distinguished candidate that is nominated.

Chairman’s Award

Chairman's awardThe Chairman’s Award recognizes the outstanding contributions of an individual on behalf of IPI and its mission to develop high trust relationships and partnering organizational cultures. Winners will have provided exceptional leadership and service to IPI and its members and will model the collaborative behavior at the core of IPI’s mission. This honor will be awarded at the discretion of the Chairman of the Board of Advisors.
